USED Paul Reed Smith PRS Johnny Hiland Signature 10 Top Maple Fretboard
Ultra-rare in the used market these days and rapidly appreciating in value, the Johnny Hiland PRS is a unique spot in the PRS lineup, even to this day. 24 frets, specially voiced JH pickups, bolt on maple neck and a gorgeous 10 grade maple carved top are all present here and combine for a monster of a player's guitar. This is also the only guitar in the PRS catalog to feature a recessed truss rod cover - since Johnny likes to bend behind the nut.
Only in production from 2006-2009, the Hiland is becoming highly desirable by players and collectors alike.
This particular example is in exceptionally clean condition, with very little sign of play wear. Several small marks on the body and light tarnish on the pickup covers are the only hints this a pre-owned guitar. Originally purchased and stored as a collection item, this is one of the finest examples you will find anywhere.
The Paul Reed Smith Johnny Hiland model guitar is a versatile instrument designed for a versatile player. The Johnny Hiland model's namesake is legendary for his lightning-fast fingers and ability to effortlessly cross musical boundaries. His signature guitar boasts a carved figured maple top, 25" scale, carved rock maple neck with large dot inlays, PRS trem, and JH signature treble and bass pickups.
The Hiland Signature is the only PRS guitar to use a three-way Fender-style lever pickup selector, then there are its large black dot fretboard markers - just under 9mm in diameter below the 12th fret and closer to 7mm above - that come with a 513-style 12th fret bird inlay (there´s even a first fret dot - a tribute from Johnny to the late Danny Gatton). It has its own JH neck carve too, along with specially created JH Treble and Bass covered humbuckers. Even the ‘Johnny Hiland´ engraved truss rod cover is inlaid into the headstock to facilitate those behind-the-nut bends.
If you are looking for a unique and rare PRS 10 top, this Johnny Hiland model may be for you.
