Highly collectible and limited edition (1 of 150) Custom Shop Les Paul finished in Vintage Cherry VOS (factory light aging). This guitar is in nearly un-played condition but has some natural nitro finish checking on the rear of the headstock, near the 3 way selector switch and cutaway horn. It is unclear if this is part of VOS or a result of genuine aging, but we suspect the latter. No typical signs of legitimate play wear are evident (fret wear, buckle marks).

The guitar is indeed one of the "good ones". It immediately feels familiar, the neck profile being one of the best CS necks we've seen in the shop. It is also very comfortable to wear at 8.5lbs.

From Gibson:

Gibson’s shipping records confirm Slash’s original ‘58 Les Paul guitar (serial #8 3096) was one of the first two sunburst Les Pauls ever made, and the first ever to feature a two-piece centre-seamed maple top, a key feature of the Les Paul Standard. That makes Slash’s guitar the first production Les Paul Standard model! This replica captures the magic, vibe and history of that legendary guitar and is in excellent condition.

The attention to detail on this True Historic model is second to none – It features a two-piece solid Maple top that sits on the one-piece Mahogany body, crowning the warm Les Paul sound with a glittering height spectrum. The Mahogany neck is classically glued with long neck foot and hot hide glue so that the electric guitar has an endless singing sustain. The powerful "Replica '58 C" profile conveys the authentic feel of a Holy Grail Les Paul from the golden era of the electric guitar.

The Hardware is also based on the smallest details of the Slash " Original with five Kluson Deluxe Single Ring mechanics and one Kluson Deluxe Double Ring mechanic, which were only used in later model years. The bridge is the combination established by Ted McCarty of Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic and one made Tailpiece of light aluminum.

It has 2x Gibson Custombuckers with Alnico III magnets which authentically reproduce the sound of the legendary PAF Humbucker, providing a warm, powerful sound that lets solos sing with endless sustain and gives juicy riffs the necessary thrust. The cap of the bridge humbucker has also been removed for a more direct and open sound. The Humbucker controls are a hand-wired circuit with 3-way toggle as well as separate volume and tone controls, which thanks to authentic Bumblebee capacitors enables particularly smooth treble roll-offs.

This is a guitar that will appeal to both players and collectors looking to invest in an appreciating asset. It comes complete with its original hard shell case, Slash signed COA and remaining paperwork.
