Ibanez Axe Design Lab J Custom RG8870 BRE 6 String Electric Guitar Black Rutile

The new RG8870 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2023. It is crafted in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high-end J Custom line, as well as the new Axe Design Lab range. The J Custom guitars are the highest tier Ibanez RG models and are regarded as extremely playable instruments.

The RG8870 features a 4mm thick AAA flamed maple top on a chambered alder body bolted to a maple and wenge neck with an asymmetric 24-fret Macassar ebony fingerboard with pearl and abalone Tree of Life inlays. Components include DiMarzio pickups with The Tone Zone and PAF 36th Anniversary humbuckers flanking a True Velvet single-coil, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, Gotoh tuning machines, and Gotoh Strap lock pins.
